Dearest One,
I hope you are enjoying this interesting and busy month of March as much as I am. We are heading for the Spring Equinox on March 20 and I am really looking forward to celebrating it big time ; ). I will even get up very early this year (at 6 am !) to do some drumming outside on my favourite mountain.
This week I am so happy and excited that the Beautiful and Sparkly Hibiscus Moon accepted to come on over to my blog and let us know what she is up to. She is an amazing teacher and you can just feel her love for crystals ooze through the screen : ). Her love for what she does and her amazing sense of developping her business following her passion are a great inspiration for me and many others.
Welcome, sweetheart, and thank you for sharing!
Big hugs, Karina
How did you know that crystals were your Big Love?
I’ve been interested in crystals and stones from as far back as I can remember. Leafing through a Smithsonian Museum book of my father’s at about the age of three, the amazing photographs of crystals and gems just stopped me in my tracks, riveting me to those pages! I would leaf through them over and over again, just staring until the pages were worn. They were much better than any children’s book you could have ever plopped in front of me. Yes, I was kind of a strange child.
Of course, I had no idea at the time what these beautiful objects were, but I later learned that they were created miraculously through Mother Earth’s handiwork. I was intrigued that something so gorgeous and perfect as a crystal could emerge from the dirt and rough rocks.
What is your biggest and wildest dream for your crystal business?
I’m living it right now!! I’ve expanded my local crystal teachings to GLOBAL with an online certification academy of SUPER-Cool Crystal Hotties. I love them all! And we all get to work with crystals. I still also sell & do special orders on special crystal pieces. Shopping for crystals…does it get any better than that!? I just got back from our annual Tucson Gem & Mineral Show to shop for many of my clients as well as myself. I’m livin the CRYSTAL DREAM!
How are you making all your business dreams come true?
I just follow my heart. I follow exactly what I want to do. Then I focus all my energy on it. Where thoughts go, energy flows. I definitely have used Crystal Grids to give my business a HUGE boost as well!
What crystals are good for opening up to your guides and angels?
Stones that work really well for this are purple sage agate, celestite, angelite & ajoite (although that last one can be pretty pricey). I hunted around for a good sized piece of that in Tucson & found one in particular but decided not to get it. I’ve been dreaming about it & it’s been haunting me ever since. I should’ve just listened to my inner feelings! So the lesson here is to really listen to your intuition when looking to stones for specific purposes. You already know what is right. You just need to remember.
Are there any crystals that are good for grounding?
Oh yes! I have a sacred grounding trio that I refer people to: hematite, black tourmaline & smokey quartz. You can’t go wrong with those 3 in your corner.
What are the best crystals to use next to the computer and other electronic equipment in order to protect yourself from electromagnetic fields?
Why? For the simple reason that they easily slide into resonance with electronics & microwave radiation. That’s what we don’t want. That property is why quartz is so widely used in technology!
The best stones to use for EMF protection are ferromagnetic (iron containing) stones like lodestone, magnetite, hematite, pyrite. Now, I also like black tourmaline for this (even though it’s a silicate). The reason I throw that 1 into the hat too is b/c it’s a purifier with the added benefit of having iron in it. Black tourmaline is known for its ability to transmute & “cleanse” energy & it actually has pyroelectric properties too. But I don’t want to slam too much science in here in a blog post.
Now! Here’s the KICKER that I’ve discovered!! Most of these are the same exact stones many cultures & I teach in my classes we use to ground ourselves!!! How perfecto!
How do you clean your crystals and how often? I don’t “cleanse” or “clean” crystals very often at all. That’s because I don’t feel that they get out of whack that easily at all. But when I do retune my crystals (that’s what I like to call it) sound cleansing is my new favorite method. Here’s a little video I did on this topic:
Bio:
As a self-admitted complete & total science geek, she brings a dose (maybe a smidge more than a dose) of science to the topic of crystal healing, while trying to make sure we’re all still having lots & lots of fun!
So useful, huge clear quartz wand now moved away from computer *ahem*. Thanks for sharing this Hibiscus Moon & Karina, love Jackie xxxx
Great, Jackie! I will have to make sure I add some extra crystals near my working space for sure. Thank you for commenting!
Love, Karina
LOL! My pleasure Jackie!
Thanks for the great tips and useful information. I’m still just starting to learn more about the uses of crystals- oh and I use to have a big crystal by my computer too- but have since taken it away after reading one of your otehr blog posts Hibiscus.
Thanks!
I am definitely not a pro either, Petrea, but it’s amazing how much you can do with crystals. And I love using them intuitively. Thank you for sharing : ).
Good move Petrea. :)
Thank you, Karina and Hibiscus Moon, for such a great interview! I’m taking the certification course now (so close to finishing) and I’ve loved each and every class more than I can say – they’re packed with information and great stuff. And Hibiscus Moon’s Etsy shop is one of my fave places to buy crystals. It was wonderful to read this – thank you!
Thank you for reading : ). It sounds great to be doing the certification course. You will know so much about crystals when you are done and I’m sure you’ll be able to grow in many ways. Good luck, Gin!
Hey Gin Gin!! ((HUGS))
Great interview, Karina and Hibiscus Moon! I have a Himalayan salt lamp plugged into my keyboard to help mitigate the EMR. And I received a set of chakra crystals from the etsy shop. It’s been fun playing around with feeling the different energies.
Thank you for visiting, Loran : ). Great idea to have the salt lamp next to your computer. I just realised mine is close to my computer as well. Yay! I will have to try the chakra crystals -they sound like fun : ).
